Honestly, action verbs are one of my favorite parts of speech to teach. There are so many fun things you can do when you explore action verbs! Here’s a fun freebie that you can use with your class:
I have… Who has… Action Verbs!
This action verbs game is so much fun to play:
Directions:
Hand out all the cards.
The student with the “start” card may begin by reading the card aloud. Example: Start! Who has “I eat an apple”?
The student who has the card with the correct verb reads their answer and the new question. Example: I have “eat”. Who has “I read a good book”?
Students must listen for their turn and try not to break the chain.
When the chain circles back to the first student, the game is over.
My students love playing this; it’s so much fun, and it encourages good listening skills, a big bonus!
I also use this set as a simple matching or domino game.

Have fun teaching!
Lots of love,
